WHAT: Spend 7 nights and 6 days sailing the world’s greatest sailing grounds.  Our next catamaran flotilla will to the British Virgin Islands.  The British Virgin Islands (BVIs) is the ideal place sail and enjoy paradise.  Each catamaran will be skippered by an experienced BVI veteran.  The conditions and facilities are focused on the chartering industry so that your trip will be hassle free.  Harry Polly of Tejas Sailing Academy will skipper Boat 1, Michael McMahon of Chamonix II to skipper Boat 2, Allan Sanders will skipper Boat 3, Tim Terry will skipper Boat 4, Peter Byrom will skipper Boat 5, and Paul Tipton will skipper Boat 6.

No sailing experience is needed.  

WHEN: November 6 to November 13, 2010 – On Saturday, November 6 fly to the BVIs arriving in the late afternoon for an 1800 hours boat checkout and sleep aboard.  Then on Sunday, November 7 attend a chart briefing, boat checkout, and super market provisioning.  We will set sail at 1100 hours for the Bite off Norman Island for six days of wonderful sailing.  We will return to our charter base in Road Town, Tortola around 1100 hours on Saturday, November 13 for an afternoon flight back home.  BVI airport code is EIS and St. Thomas, USVI is SPB.

WHERE: Tortola and the British Virgin Islands are sailor’s paradise.  The BVIs are considered one of the top charter destinations in the world for the best all-around cruising.  The trade winds will carry you to whatever you’re looking for.  With scores of safe and unspoiled anchorages, the British Virgin Islands lie nested about the Sir Francis Drake Channel in protected waters for fast fun sailing.  All islands are within plain sight of one another making navigation a breeze.  There are crystal clear waters, boulder-formed caves and picture perfect beaches with one of kind beachfront restaurants.  There are numerous anchorages and wonders ashore at every stop. 

COST: The trip will cost $1,300 (double occupancy) for your own private berth complete with private shower and head.  The charter fee covers: air-conditioned catamaran, hull damage insurance, charts, cruising fees, fuel surcharge, and 6 breakfasts, 6 lunches, and 2 dinners cooked on board.  Each boat has four berths – skippers will sleep in the salon.  Air fare which is usually $500 to $700 roundtrip is not included.

 THE BOAT: The 46-foot catamaran comes with 4 queen size double berths, 4 private heads, and is complete with bed linens, pillows, towels.  There is a large galley up for wide panoramic views that has an oval table that also converts to a double bed. She is 46’overall and 24’ wide stable floating machine.  She draws 4’ 6” and holds 206 gallons of water.  She has a sail area of 1,227 square feet of speed and power.  She is capable of speeds up to 11 to 12 knots.
