Instructor Mentored Sailing

Texas Sailing Academy graduates receive a one time free mentoring session. Register and
your $49 fee will be refunded to you once you're verified. Others should sign up at a rate of $49.
 Once you earn your ASA 101 certification, you care entitled to a "free" four hour instructor mentored sail. On the fourth Saturday of each month, from 2PM to 6PM up to four ASA 101 graduates can come out and sail with an instructor acting as crew to assist and advise you in skippering for your first time. You can bring a guest but there is a $25 charge per guest.
These sessions allow you to follow a detailed “Departure Checklist” and “Arrival Checklist” under the watchful eye of an instructor. During your mentored sail, your instructor will refresh your memory on rigging, proper sail trim, safety, navigation rules, outboard operation, tacking, gybing, stopping, and crew overboard recovery. Depending on the winds, you will get a chance to return to the dock under sail.

Sailing Refresher
Spend three hours tuning-up your sailing skills. This is a perfect way to get ready for the sailing season. Your instructor will assist you in honing your skills and confidence in handling a sailboat. You will refresh your knowledge of tacking, gybing, stopping, heaving-too, and recovering a crew over board. The session costs $49 and you can bring a friend.
Remember to sign a waiver and bring it with you to your mentoring session.
